Pevně věřím, že to, co se s vámi chystám sdílet, bude pozorně posuzováno jak ze sociálního, tak zdravotního hlediska.
Paralympiáda se koná každé čtyři roky, což nám dává možnost soutěžit v různých kategoriích postižení v různých sportovních kategoriích. Sportovci s achondroplasií také soutěží v těchto hrách, sklízejí mnoho medailí v některých kategoriích, včetně běžeckých akcí, jezdeckých, powerliftingu, plavání, stolního tenisu a tenisu pro vozíčkáře.

Jsem také více než šťastný, že tato nová kategorie je paralympijskou lukostřelbou, kde mohou soutěžit sportovci s různými typy postižení. Nyní byla přijata iniciativa, abychom mohli soutěžit v kategorii našich vlastních, zejména zdravotního postižení.
Lukostřelba byla poprvé zahrnuta do Světových trpaslicových her 2017, a docela úspěšně. Doporučuji také navštívit http://worlddwarfgames2017.org/.
Nyní je čas vzít všechny tyto úspěchy do zářezu, do paralympijských her.

Vzhledem k tomu, že se lidé účastní jiných sportovních aktivit, budou mít i další zájem o lukostřelbu. Věřím také, že máte schopnost organizovat nadšence lukostřelby a najít pro ně trenéry se srdcem a odhodláním.
Dokážeme-li prokázat náš zájem o lukostřelbu a ukázat světu, že jsme tady, myslím, že národní lukostřelecké federace našich příslušných národů, každá z nich, budou snadnější při spouštění požadovaných procesů pro výcvik lukostřelců s krátkou postavou.

Věřím, že naše viditelnost ve stále větším počtu sportovních odvětví nám přinese další respekt. Jistě, postoje vůči lidem s krátkou postavou nikdy nebudou v rozvinutých a rozvinutých zemích stejné. Proto považuji takové projekty za nějaký druh iniciativ v oblasti globální / sociální odpovědnosti. Čím více budeme, tím více budeme mít a budeme schopni snáze zvládnout výzvy, které stojí mezi námi a soutěžit v kategoriích, které chceme. Nejsme slabí. Jsme silní. To je moje pevná víra a vím, že tuto sílu, kterou máme na světě, můžeme nejlépe odrážet prostřednictvím sportu a umění.

I came across your contact information as I was browsing for achondroplasia-related groups to share a recent development concerning paralympic sports.
I firmly believe that what I am about to share with you will be considered attentively both from social as well as health perspective.
Paralympics take place every four years, giving us the opportunity to compete in various categories of disability in various sports categories. Athletes with achondroplasia also compete in these games, reaping many medals in some categories, including running events, equestrian, powerlifting, swimming, table tennis and wheelchair tennis.

These athletes are a source of inspiration for future generations.
Now, I wish to tell you about the recent, significant development that is the reason behind this letter.
There is the possibility that a new category for persons with short stature be opened up in Paralympic Games.
I am also more than happy that this new category is paralympic archery, where athletes with different types of disabilities can compete. Now, an initiative has been taken so that we can compete in the category of our own, particular disability.
Archery was included in the 2017 World Dwarf Games for the first time, and quite successfully so. I recommend also that you please visithttp://worlddwarfgames2017.org/ also.
Now is the time to take all these achievements a notch up, to Paralympic Games.
Allow me, please to give you an outline of what this is about.
I managed to make a presentation to Prof. Uğur Erdener, the Chair of the World Archery Federation, and Tom Dielen, the Secretary General, about people with short stature and archery, showcasing them that ‚we can,‘ and which proved worthy of their support.
Although this triggered certain initiatives and work upon due instruction of the Chairperson, there is still quite a lot we shall accomplish down this lengthy road.

We wholeheartedly believe that it will be dealt with, with the sensitivity it demands.
But how can you contribute to this process?
The main reason we are sharing this project with you is because you have the capability to notify the members of your organization wishing to become archers. As there are people enrolled in other sports activities, there will be others to grow an interest in archery as well. I also believe that you have the capability to organize enthusiasts of archery and find trainers for them with no less a heart and determination.
If we can prove our interest in archery and show the world that we are here, I think national archery federations of our respective nations, each, will be more at ease in triggering the required processes for training of archers with short stature.

Yet, training will, for sure, not be easy. People might say that you cannot do it, you cannot succeed and that you should give up and quit just because of your physique. But then, is success not more valuable once attained despite all odds? There is no success that comes on a golden platter.
I believe that our visibility in more and more sports branches will earn us further respect. Sure, attitudes towards people with short stature will never be the same in underdeveloped and developed countries. That is why I see such projects as some kind of global/social responsibility initiatives. The more we are the more say we shall have and be able to do away easier with challenges that stand between us and competing in categories we want. We are not weak. We are strong. That is my firm belief and I know that we can reflect this power that we have to the world best through sports and arts.
I will share with you the outcome of my correspondence with member World Archery Federation member states as well as other developments that would also give you a better hand to contact your national archery federation and tell them you are here -should you be interested, of course.
Do not allow anything to discourage you. Athletes competing in the Paralympics and other categories have heard similar downbeat talk over and over again, I assure you. But their mettle made them champions. That is how they became success stories making a difference. Please come, join forces with these unyielding people. Why not if you want to? Never give up and be daunted by barriers.
This character and the successes it entails is the only thing we leave behind for future generations.
